As it says in big letters over there I am Brittany. I am a web designer and illustrator living in Newcastle. I enjoy tea.

I Can Use

Photoshop, Open Canvas, Aptana Web, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, good old pen and paper, imagination and a camera.

Plans

I graduated with a 2:1 in Multimedia Design from Northumbria University in 2008 and have been exploring the real world ever since. After a couple of false starts and some confusion over holding the map upside down I finally found where I wanted to go, I've started walking the road to a career in illustration and web design. As part of this journey I hope one day soon to be able to wave a comic in the air and say "I made this!".

Me, me, me!

I am an avid reader of books and comics; it comes down to loving a good story, no matter the medium used to deliver it. I have an interest in Japanese culture, both the traditional and modern music, entertainment and fashion found there intrigues me and tends to influence my work. As well as aspiring to be a designer and illustrator I draw as a hobby. I like to use some of my spare time to create short comics and as a result have become involved with a local self published comics group known as the Paper Jam Comic Collective. Photography is another of my hobbies, I have taken part in various casual events with other photographers in Newcastle and am currently attempting Project 365, taking at least one photo of something every day and sharing it with the online community, where others are doing the same project.
